1960: Åke Nordin founded Fjällräven. The first product was a backpack with an aluminum frame, inspired by his passion for hiking.

1964: Thermo Tent, the brand's first double-layer tent, was released to the market.

1968: G-1000 fabric was created to produce the Greenland Jacket, designed for the harsh Scandinavian climate.

1970: Greenland Trousers, the first professional hiking pants, followed.

1974: Expedition Down Jacket, made only from down from dead geese (no live-plucking).

1978: The Kånken backpack was born to solve back pain issues among Swedish schoolchildren.

1994: “Save The Arctic Fox” project. The brand collaborated with a team of scientists from Stockholm University to help the endangered Arctic fox.

2005: Fjällräven Classic, a long-distance trekking event, was launched. The first was a 110 km hiking trail in northern Sweden.

2008: Kajka, an award-winning professional hiking backpack, used a birch wood frame instead of an aluminum frame, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by over 90%.

2011: Eco-Shell fabric, made from Recycled Polyester, free of PFCs. A fabric that provides both ventilation and rain protection.

2017: Bergtagen, a Mountaineering backpack, a new step in outdoor bags. Suitable for rock climbing, made from 100% waterproof Bergshell fabric.
